just vanished. but if you start following the civilization, you can find where it went. you can find this culture's movement across the land. these images inside this bowl came from vessels that were anastazi. and you can track the movement of styles across the southwest, across centuries. and i look into these and i see people from the high desert living down in the pines of central arizona. i see the shapes of their lives still recorded, that the anastazi didn't disappear, they just moved and they carried everything with them. and when they ran into other cultures, they adjusted. they changed the colors of their vessels but they kept the same images, images of a landscape that is worn open, that is controlled by basic elements, by wind, by water, by gravity. see the shape of the world where i have spent my life, where i have been walking, looking for these stories. and just to give you a sense of scale here, that's me at the bottom of that pillar. and that pillar is just some old wall and that's all that's left of it, some memory of a canyon. every place out there is a memory, a me

following, the personnel items that you see there. those personnel items, if you tally up the number of people who were brought on as full-time employees, you have about 135. if you plug in the interns, you have another 35, and then you have another 40 or so, i think, emergency appointments and such like that. those numbers exceed the number of layoffs. and this isn't the only time that you're reporting hiring people. and while the period that we went through last year with the layoffs is, of course, gone and we can't do much about that, we can learn from what happened then and compare what we have now and consider to what degree layoffs like those are necessary. if virtually everybody has been brought back and we have not touched the obama edu-funds money at this point, then there's a question about why we spent whatever it was -- $450,000, $500,000, and went through the disruption of the layoffs last time. the numbers you have here indicate that there's a better way to do it. we're happy to work on getting past that kind of thing in the future, and we hope that we don't have to go thr

that point on, it did follow the project all the way to today, and there are two reasons why i pulled permit. one was certainly to comply with all planning and building department policies, protocols, and compliance, and secondly, almost as important as that is once you get signed off and pull the necessary permits, it adds value not only to the project but also to the surrounding neighborhood and neighbors, so i am able baffled by them, just pointing out the 14 inches, where if you were to look the other neighboring yards, they are well in, you know, 3 feet or more, and i guess i am a little baffled that they do not mention those rear yards as far as determining the value of their property. and the fence items, her response of september 1, i am baffled by that, as well, because all of those items have been addressed. all of the complaints she has launched against 48 newton and mr. patel, they have all been done and checked by senior building inspectors and signed off. there is information on all the weekend polls, all the necessary permits, inspections, everything -- all that we pull

what we've done in putting the restoration plan together is try to follow the policy guidelines and views you provided us with -- you know, through your leadership over the last several months as we've gone through the budget and service discussions. number one, that as we put back or look to restore service, so in a strategic fashion. we look at the roots, ridership and benefits along those lines. throughout the last several months there have been numerous discussions on audits and our approach to schedule making. of course schedules and the levels of service being the biggest driver. we are following in this particular case and are looking at our plan to restore service, doing everything we can to write and develop more efficient schedules, particularly as we have heard loud and clear that the discussions that have taken place over the last several months to minimize the amount of stand by time. so that is the second principle . the third principle that we wanted to follow in restoring the service was to make sure that whatever we put back, we have the ability to mana are aw last

valdemoro was killed last night following a shootout with police around 8:45. he was a suspect in the death of a hercules man and the strangulation death of an unidentified woman found in the car following the high-speed chase. hercules police say valdemoro kidnapped that woman earlier in the day and police spotted valdemoro's vehicle and gave chase. they backed off when the freeway entered the freeway. about 8:10, the chp took over, chased valdemoro through san ramon, castro valley, all the way through richmond. the speeds reached 100 miles an hour. the whole time police could see someone in the passenger seat, they had had no idea she was dead until they got to pierce and central in richmond at this shopping center. police say they tried just about everything to stop valdemoro from continuing on his dangerous drive. >> we have the pursuit intervention technique. we attempt to disable the vehicle that way and we also try to use a spike strip. >> the suspect had a large knife. when officers came commands to him to drop the knife, in which they were in fear of their lives, they dischar

invest about $9.1 billion. as i mentioned before, about a third of the programs for vehicles followed by the overhead system and then the facilities. this bar graph shows the different need by asset class. so this is showing how much is needed each year for all the different asset classes. in the early years you can see the blue bar at the bottom is the facilities where we have a significant backlog. and those bars rise and fall over the years depending on the needs. but the dash line in the middle is that $455 million average over the 20 years. we're showing the backlog here as, you know, spread over the first few years but that's really going to be dependent on the level of funding that we're able to achieve. that backlog just may be pushed out in time. hopefully be reduced over time but it probably -- we wouldn't realize the resources actually address it on the time frame that's shown here. the last chart i'd share with you. looking at that same information but this time looking at the different modes of operation. if we look at the various modes, about 40% of the need is for the r

talking about. the unanswered questions following the frightening shooting and lock downed at the world renowned john hopkins hospital. why did the man open fire. wjz stays on the story with complete coverage. mike hellgren stays on the story. >> reporter: good afternoon. the response here a little more than 24 hours ago was massive it was quick, doctor who was shot is still being treated for his injuries. he is expected to survive. hopkins had a series of employee meetings starting at 10:00 to talk about the firsthand response to the tragedy and give those employees an opportunity for counseling after these traumatic events. the sprawling hospital campus was back to normal after a terrifying lock down yesterday that was anything but. paul warren distraught over his mother's prognosis shot her doctor and kill her and himself. >> i was up on the 8th floor. i hear a bang. then i saw a either er a nurse or a female resident coming around the corner saying he shot the doctor, he shot the doctor. i went down ten yards and made a left and there is doctor was on the floor in the hallway.
